Xpentra

Design Leadership, Design System Overhaul, Enterprise UX Team Management, Strategic Collaboration

A model paused dynamically while seated on the floor

Xpentra is the flagship B2B fintech platform by Q2Pay Technologies, built to simplify enterprise financial operations. It brings corporate payments, payroll, taxation, collections, bank reconciliation, and treasury management into a single platform, replacing fragmented banking portals and manual processes with a centralized, secure, and scalable financial operations system.

The interesting parts are real. The confidential parts are doing their job under an NDA.

Corporate payments aren't just about moving money, they're about navigating compliance, security, and operational complexity. The goal wasn't to hide it, but to make this complexity feel intuitive.

My Contribution

I joined Xpentra as a Senior UI/UX Designer and progressed to Design Team Lead, leading a team of five designers while owning the platform's most critical initiatives. I led the design system overhaul, designed core enterprise modules, established scalable design processes, mentored designers, collaborated closely with engineering and product leadership, and represented design in C-suite strategy discussions and enterprise client engagements.

Clientele

Challenges

The product had grown rapidly, but its design system hadn't kept pace. Duplicate components, an inconsistent color system, outdated visual patterns, and the lack of enterprise theming made the product difficult to maintain, scale, and evolve. These inconsistencies also slowed design and development while creating unnecessary implementation overhead.

The priority wasn't introducing a design system—it was rebuilding one that could scale. By consolidating components, establishing semantic foundations, and enabling enterprise theming, the platform became easier to maintain, faster to build, and ready for future growth.

Contributions & Achievements

Individual contributer to a Team lead

As my role evolved from Senior UI/UX Designer to Design Team Lead, my focus expands beyond designing features to building the systems and processes behind the team. I lead a team of 5 designers, introducing structured design reviews, standardizing developer handoffs, establishing design debt tracking, and aligning design with engineering workflows. Alongside mentoring designers and guiding strategic decisions, I help create a design function that could consistently deliver high-quality work at scale.

Driving product strategy through C-suite engagement

I work closely with the CEO, CTO, CFO and other executive stakeholders on roadmap planning, module prioritization, and long-term product direction. In parallel, I regularly engage with enterprise clients to gather feedback, understand operational challenges, and translate business needs into product decisions. These interactions strengthened my ability to communicate design in business terms, balance competing priorities, and align user needs with technical and organizational objectives.

Rebuilding From Fragmented Components to a Unified System

The existing design system had become difficult to maintain, with duplicate components, inconsistent patterns, and a fragmented color architecture. I led a comprehensive overhaul that consolidated the component library, introduced a semantic and formula-driven color system, aligned the product with the updated brand language, and established the foundation for enterprise theming and white-labeling. The result was a more scalable, maintainable system that improved both design and development efficiency while supporting future product growth.

Designing core modules for High-Stakes Financial Operations

I own the design of core operational modules used daily by enterprise finance teams. The Account & Transaction Management experience focused on transaction visibility, operational efficiency, and confidence during high-value financial actions. Alongside this, I designed the Taxation Module to simplify TDS management, compliance tracking, return filing workflows, and audit requirements. Both modules transformed complex financial and regulatory processes into structured, intuitive experiences that reduced errors and improved user efficiency.

Designing for Security, Visibility & Compliance

Beyond transactional workflows, I designed several enterprise-focused modules that strengthened the platform's operational and security capabilities. This included analytics experiences built around progressive disclosure, authentication flows with risk-based security controls, and a BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) configuration system that enabled enterprise clients to manage their own encryption keys. Each solution required translating highly technical requirements into interfaces that remained clear, compliant, and accessible to non-specialist administrators.
